Coffs Harbour City Council 2019
Coffs Harbour City Council currently supports three libraries, a regional museum, and a regional art gallery.
There is a vibrant and growing cultural economy in the region, which is supported by a multi-tiered educational sector, enterprising creative practitioners, and numerous community cultural groups. The City’s cultural, tourism and economic development strategies all support the prospect of a more creatively alive and prosperous Coffs Coast.
The City’s libraries, gallery and museum represent vital cultural infrastructure, which is complemented by community-run and/or privately owned art galleries, theatre and performance spaces, and a diverse range of creative classes, programs and events. The new Libraries Museum Gallery (LMG) Strategy 2020-2023 represents the first time all cultural services will share the same strategic framework. The prospect of a new Cultural and Civic Space in Coffs Harbour, in which all three cultural services will share spaces, programs and staff, represents a major cultural catalyst for the region.
Project Sisu has worked with Coffs Harbour City Council’s staff and communities to craft a forward-looking library, gallery and museum strategy against the backdrop of the new cultural and civic space and projected demographic changes across the Mid-North Coast region.
