Camden Council is one of the fastest growing local government areas in New South Wales. Whole new suburbs like Oran Park will intensify the population growth already evident in other parts of the municipality. 

Camden’s libraries at Narellan and Camden serve diverse needs in an increasingly diverse community. Both libraries constitute vital civic hubs that offer a multitude of resources and programs to their respective communities. The new Oran Park Library, open in mid 2018, extends the library service into an entirely new suburb and accompanying nascent community.

 

The extended library service presents challenges and opportunities. This is a significant transition, not just for the library service but for the identity of the LGA.
